  • Keeps dust and debris out

Can Earwax Cause Hearing Loss?

Earwax is a natural substance our bodies create to protect our ears but, in some cases, it may begin to accumulate and cause a blockage. Some symptoms include:

  • Earache
  • Ringing in the ears (also known as Tinnitus)
  • Hearing Loss
  • Ear Pressure

Most people will try to use Q-tips to remove any blockages. However often the Q-tip can push the blockage farther down the canal causing more serious problems.

How To Remove Earwax

We recommend you do not try to remove it on your own but there are at-home earwax removal kits that are available at most drug stores. While these are generally safe, it is highly suggested you speak with a hearing professional before trying anything. We have special tools and training in safely removing these types of blockages.

If you are experiencing pain or discomfort as a result of earwax, come see us. We are here to help.
